Climate Service Providers Database

Looking for expert assistance on climate issues but unsure where to start? The Climate Services Provider Database is a directory of climate service providers in the Western U.S. You can search the site for the type of information or service you're seeking, such as workshops, decision support tools, vulnerability assessments, training and education, etc. You can also search by geographic area or sector served to find which provider(s) serve that area. Once you find a match, please visit the provider's website or contact them directly for more information.

INSTRUCTIONS: Select one or more search types and the desired criteria for each. Click on the maps to limit the search to the selected states. The results will automatically update as the criteria are changed. Click on the organization titles in the resulting list to see more details about each entry. This database was created through a partnership between NOAA Western Region Collaboration Team, the NOAA-RISA Western Water Assessment, and the NOAA-RISA Climate Assessment for the Southwest. The database is in pilot form. It is intended to catalog climate service providers in NOAA's Western Region (AZ, CA, CO, ID, MT, NV, NM, OR, UT, WA, and WY). For more information about the project, please refer to the project final report.

The information presented here is current as of June, 2016. If you are a provider listed here and would like to update your information, please contact csproviders@dri.edu. If you are a service provider not listed here and would like to be included in this database, please complete the provider profile form.

This project was supported by the following organizations:

Search Options

Providers offering climate services in one or more of the Western Region states are categorized using seven major criteria: sectors served, types of providers, scales of services provided, types of services provided, stakeholders in the information and services provided, the states in the Western Region for which services are available, and the states in which the providers are actually based.

These criteria offer a great deal of flexibility for quickly finding providers of interest. However, if you are not interested in using these options and want to see the full list, just click any one of the links labeled "select all ..." or click the "select region" button below the left map.

The matching providers will appear in the Search Results pane. When you modify the search options, the results will be updated automatically to reflect the new criteria.

The summary list is alphabetized by provider name. For this reason, a search-by-name option is not provided.

Each of the first five criteria groups may be selected or cleared as a group. Clicking the small blue arrows will display expanded lists of criteria options for even finer granularity in defining the search.

Options within a criteria grouping are applied with an implied "OR". That is, if you select Sections Served options for "agriculture" and "forests", you will get a list of providers which offer either one or the other (but not necessarily both). However, major criteria groups have an implied "AND" meaning. If you select "agriculture" under Sectors Served and click "Oregon" in the States Served map, you will get only providers offering agriculture-related services in Oregon.

Note that a criteria group with no options selected behaves the same as having all options checked. The reasoning is that unless at least one option is selected, you are not interested in filtering the search results on that criteria at all.

If you have any questions about how the search process works, please contact csproviders@dri.edu.
