Instrumentation
Each UCNRS climate station is instrumented to measure standard climatological variables including:
- air temperature at 2 meters and 10 meters above the ground,
- relative humdity at 2 meters above the ground,
- wind speed and wind direction at 10 meters above the ground,
- precipitation (stations at Chickering and SNARL are equipped to measure frozen and liquid precipitation,
- barometric pressure,
- incoming solar radiation (visible and photosynthetic spectrum),
- soil temperature at 2,4,8, and 20 inches,
- soil moisture at 2 inches.
